If you have never been to Banff in the summer, then you are really missing out! There are so many trails and sights to explore and see it can become overwhelming. Which is why our staff has compiled a list of the Top 5 activities you must see, while visiting the park this summer. The Banff Canoe club is located right beside the Bow View Lodge, which couldn’t be more convenient. Rent a canoe, kayak or stand-up paddle board and paddle upstream on the Bow River or Echo Creek. You will then reach the Vermillion Lakes and have some breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Get rewarded for your hard work with a gentle float on your return to the docks. Do not forget your camera for those incredible photo opportunities along the way.

 

Drive the iconic icefields parkway to reach the amazing Columbia Icefields. From there take a tour on the Ice Explorer that drives onto the glacier for an unforgettable experience! Contact our concierge team for more details.

Local Tip: Bring an empty water bottle with you. The fresh glacier water is a refreshing change from what you get at home.

 

Watch for wildlife, feel the fresh air and get adventurous on Banff's largest lake. The heated, covered boats mean you can explore in any weather. Stop by the Black Anchor Snack Shop for a picnic lunch before or after your cruise to make a day out of it. It just feels like summer out here!

 

Whether your looking for an easy scenic walk the the forests or wanting to tackle on of Banff’s surrounding peaks, there is a trail for everyone. Stop by the front desk and we can let you know some of Banff’s hidden spots.

 

The 12-minute gondola takes you up top of Sulphur Mountain and offers some of the most breathtaking of the park. Once you're at the top, begin your adventure by strolling the boardwalk to the Cosmic Ray Station and Sanson's Peak and learn about Canada's first national park. Then, head inside to explore our world-class mountaintop discovery centre. Summer nights are equally stellar on Sulphur. Think nightly live music, rooftop patio sips, and dazzling sunsets.
